The service at Uptown 66, exemplified by Alberto, enhances the dining experience, making you feel right at home with his infectious enthusiasm.
While opinions may vary, with some like Ingrid Casado finding the Tacos Barbacoa too heavy on cilantro, the standout items steal the show time and again. The steak burrito, with generous portions suitable for two, remains a crowd-pleaser. And as Alejandro Dalmau discovered, every visit to Uptown 66 reveals more delicious surprises waiting to be devoured.

“ If you’re looking for an authentic taco experience that hits every note of flavor, texture, and atmosphere, Uptown 66 is an absolute must. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the aroma of freshly grilled meats, sizzling tortillas, and the kind of energy that can only come from a place that truly loves what it does. The star of the show? Without a doubt — the Birria Taco. It’s perfection in every bite: tender, juicy beef slow-cooked until it practically melts in your mouth, wrapped in a crispy, golden tortilla dipped in rich consommé before being grilled to perfection. The depth of flavor is unreal — smoky, savory, with just the right balance of spice and richness. Dunking each taco into the warm, aromatic broth takes the experience to another level. It’s comfort food elevated to something almost magical. Beyond the Birria, every taco on the menu feels thoughtfully crafted. The ingredients are fresh, the seasoning bold, and the presentation unpretentious but beautiful. The salsas pack real personality — from the tangy verde to the fiery roja — and the homemade tortillas tie everything together with that perfect chew and subtle corn flavor. The staff at Uptown 66 deserve a special mention. Friendly, passionate, and genuinely proud of what they serve, they make you feel like part of the family. Whether you sit at the bar or the patio, the vibe is vibrant yet relaxed, perfect for both a quick lunch and a late-night taco run. In a city full of taco spots, Uptown 66 stands out for one reason: authenticity with soul. You can taste the dedication in every dish, especially that unforgettable Birria taco. It’s easily one of the best in town — the kind of meal that leaves you already planning your next visit before you even finish the last bite. ”
“ An excellent spot for a quick but incredible tasting meal. On a great weather day its an awesome place to eat in their outdoor dining tables, or take you meal to go and enjoy your delightfully prepared food at the larger park directly across the street. Everything they make travels well and is thoughtfully crafted. The beef has so much flavor that it would be delicious if they just fed it to you in a bowl, but when paired with the rest of the burrito accompaniments it's over the top good. Sometimes the service is a little slow if they get behind on an order and we had to ask for an update to rather than being informed. I don't think there's a better place to get your fix of tacos, burritos in the area and will be back for more. ”
“ Nachos were amazing. Tacos Barbacoa were not that good, too much cilantro, you can't enjoy the Barbacoa flavor. The steak burrito was really good. Two can eat from one order. I do recommend this for a late snack or to eat. ”
“ Food is prepared very fresh and tasty. If you place it to go order and show up to gather it it may be a moment before you get it due to the fact that folks aren't really paying attention to getting the food out. That's my only issue. But I tell you the food is very tasty ”
“ How didn't I visit this spot sooner?! I wasn’t able to photograph the tacos because immediately after devouring the Elote I couldn’t help myself and I attacked those right after. All I can I say is I was impressed upon my first visit. Top quality. Nice portion. The Homemade Horchata was so satisfying. Can’t wait to go back. Well done. Very well done. That kitchen is putting out some tasty food. ”
